Images:  Supplied untreated the image shows how the summerhouse can look when treated with a water based colour treatment from our Protek range.  Please follow link provided.

Manufactured in the UK, Shire’s summerhouses are renowned for their quality and probably make the best quality summerhouses at this price in the UK.

Windows: Properly morticed and tenoned which is one of the strongest joints in woodwork. They are  profiled, and weather resistant. The glazing is acrylic styrene. All glazing is retained by profiled beading which is pre-mitred (no awkward cutting required).

Timber: You will be impressed by Shire’s use of natural products and their environmental credentials. A high quality timber summerhouse starts with high quality timber, so it is important to know exactly what timber is being used for your building. Shire’s  summerhouses are constructed using high quality spruce and is sourced from Siberia and Scandinavia under strict FSC guidance. Spruce is more durable than pine and provides a higher quality finish. This timber is slow grown unlike fast grown British timber, being slow grown timber means a tighter grain, less sap and with far less knots and warping occurring. The timber used on Shire’s garden buildings is therefore a more durable timber that will last much longer than other timbers used on summerhouses. Spruce is therefore the timber of choice for companies such as Shire who always look to produce the best garden buildings.

Treatment: All Shire garden buildings are supplied pre-treated with a base coat to both sides in a golden brown water based industrial product (colour can vary from the picture shown). Shire the manufacturer recommends that you apply a water based top coat of your choice. This will protect the timber from weathering on your summerhouse making it last longer and will need to be repeated accordingly in relation to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Anti-Rot Guarantee

All of the wooden garden buildings at Timberdise come with an anti-rot guarantee for peace of mind that your new garden building will be around long after we have supplied it. All buildings come with a 10 year anti-rot guarantee apart from the pressure treated range as these come with a 15 year anti-rot guarantee.

Most of the wooden garden buildings we supply come with a pre-coat of treatment that we like to call transportation protection. This protects the buildings from the elements as we deliver them to you and also gives you a small period of time from installation to actually getting the building treated yourself so that the building is not exposed during this crucial stage of its life (this does not include log cabins and garden rooms). Log cabins and garden rooms come without any treatment so make sure you treat these buildings within the first week of them being installed.

We at Timberdise will always advise you to treat your new wooden garden building as soon as you possibly can and ask that you continue to treat the building at least every 12 months there after. This is to ensure you get the maximum life span out of the building and prevent any premature rotting. We also advise you that to keep your guarantee valid you do have to treat both inside and outside of the buildings as most buildings don’t come with any damp protection.

Please have a look at the aftercare details we have available on this site by clicking here Aftercare for Sheds, Summerhouses & Playhouses and Aftercare for Log Cabins for further information.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

At Timberdise we offer a 14 day money back guarantee on all of our items. The guarantee commences from the date which you receive your item and we even offer a free collection service as part of this agreement.
