More Info

The Elveden Log Cabin from Shire is the complete package. Not only will it look absolutely fantastic in your garden, it is spacious enough to be partitioned into two separate rooms without feeling cramped in the slightest. If the only dilemma you want to be faced with is deciding what to do with all that extra space, then the Elveden could be the perfect log cabin for you.

There are loads of ways to make the most of a Shire Elveden Log Cabin. With its generous size and two internal rooms, the Elveden can become the perfect home away from home. Having two rooms will mean you are really spoilt for choice with how to use your space. You could separate work and leisure by turning one room into a calm, quiet area ideal for concentrating on your work, while keeping the other free for entertaining guests or relaxing with family and friends. By throwing open the double doors and the opening windows, you will have a breezy, cool place to spend your time. Alternatively, keep them closed to give you a nice, snug indoor space. This means you can really make the most of your log cabin whatever the outside conditions are. If work space isn’t what you need, the Elveden is great for pursuing all those hobbies you’ve simply never had space for in your home. From an exercise room to a music studio, a log cabin could provide just the space you need. Setting up your log cabin as a guest room for visitors is also a great idea, especially if you have friends or family who often stay the night or have long distances to travel. And of course, a popular choice is to give one or both rooms to young children or teenagers. They’re sure to appreciate having their own space to spend their leisure time and the extra freedom to pursue more noisy pastimes without disturbing parents. With so many possibilities, and larger or custom sized cabins available through our made to measure service, you’ll love spending time in an Elveden Log Cabin however you decide to use it.

Ground Base Info

The first thing is not to get confused between the base and the floor. All of the buildings supplied by Timberdise Garden Buildings come with floors. Base is something you will need for your new building to be erected upon. You need to make sure you get this ready before installing your new building, it’s the most important part. So lets start with what is an unsuitable base.

What is an unsuitable base?

  • Uneven ground
  • Soft Ground (such as a mud or grass area)

To explain further, if you have a patio area and the patio area is uneven we would deem that unfit to place one of our wooden garden buildings on. Another example would be if you wanted to install the new building on a grassy area or on muddy ground this would also be unfit for one of our wooden garden buildings. Also under no circumstances should you fit on any sort of gravel.

So what base do I need?

  • A solid level base, that offers support and durability for my new wooden garden building.
  • The most common bases people use for wooden garden building are patio/slabbed areas or some people get the are concreted by a professional trades person in that particular field. This is because the base needs to be thick enough to support the weight of your new building but also it needs to be the correct size, level and 100% flat. If the base dips or rises anywhere throughout the base it will stop your new building being installed correctly and in some extreme cases it will be impossible to install. For more information please contact us for advice.
  • Some people choose to have a wooden base, very similar to that used for deck boards. This is also fine but please make sure that you have a professional to make sure they use the correct Timber with the required strength to support the building.
  • If you have any questions at all regarding bases please contact us for our FREE advice. We want your new building to still be standing in years to come.

Anti-Rot Guarantee

All of the wooden garden buildings at Timberdise come with an anti-rot guarantee for peace of mind that your new garden building will be around long after we have supplied it. All buildings come with a 10 year anti-rot guarantee apart from the pressure treated range as these come with a 15 year anti-rot guarantee.

Most of the wooden garden buildings we supply come with a pre-coat of treatment that we like to call transportation protection. This protects the buildings from the elements as we deliver them to you and also gives you a small period of time from installation to actually getting the building treated yourself so that the building is not exposed during this crucial stage of its life (this does not include log cabins and garden rooms). Log cabins and garden rooms come without any treatment so make sure you treat these buildings within the first week of them being installed.

We at Timberdise will always advise you to treat your new wooden garden building as soon as you possibly can and ask that you continue to treat the building at least every 12 months there after. This is to ensure you get the maximum life out of the building and prevent against any premature rotting. We also advise you that to keep your guarantee valid you do have to treat both inside and outside of the buildings as most buildings don’t come with any damp protection.

Please have a look at the aftercare details we have available on this site by clicking here Aftercare for Sheds, Summerhouses & Playhouses and Aftercare for Log Cabins for further information.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Money-back Guarantee

If you are not happy with your building for whatever reason you have 14 days from the moment you receive the building to notify us and we will collect for free and action a full refund providing the below is met.
We are able to accept a return of a building trusting it is in its new and unused condition, also it has not been assembled or treated in anyway. Please speak to a member of our team for more information.
